Open your spreadsheet, take a look at both the qualitative and the quantitative analyses, or, even better, make a pivot table to help you report and analyze the trends. Take a look at the low-performing content and the URLs that you have graded as having low “shareability, quality and redundancy” and consider what is worth keeping, reusing, improving, or deleting.
How do you decide what’s worth keeping or deleting? Take another close look at the URLs, think if there’s something that could be improved, maybe take the E-A-T approach to decide if the content is good and worth living. When you work with enterprise sites, E-A-T principles can guide those updates.
You can also make connections between the content you currently have. See how they connect to each other. Maybe you can implement a ritual offering, where posts with dire performance that touches on the same topics as high-performance ones are deleted. You can transfer some of its content to the high-performance one as a way to repurpose parts of it and upgrade something that was already good.
Cathy likens un-inventoried, unaudited content to a library without a catalog. You can’t manage your content – keeping the whole collection fresh, useful, findable, and relevant – if you don’t know what you have.

Why Are Keystone Habits Important?
Charles explains how keystone habits can change your life with a simple example: exercise. Let’s say you decide you want to lose 30 pounds, so you make an exercise plan and start hitting the gym three days a week. When you sit down for dinner after working out, you find yourself reaching for the salad mix more often than the leftover pizza.
And since your eating habits are changing, you become more conscious of what you put on your grocery list. You start to choose more fresh foods and limit impulse buys (like your favorite ice cream or candy bar) during your trips to the supermarket. Before you know it, you’re even sleeping better because you’re tracking your sleep schedule.
See what’s happening? What started as just a simple exercise routine (the keystone habit) caused a ripple effect of other (secondary) positive habits. And secondary habits don’t necessarily have to be related to the original keystone habit. Charles shares that research has found that people who start exercising regularly also improve in other areas of their lives. He points out that better habits, like using credit cards less (or not at all) and doing the dishes more, are possible unexpected bonuses of developing a keystone habit.
“When you start to change a habit, it sets up this chain reaction,” Charles said in his interview with EntreLeadership. “Both on the job and on the home front, keystone habits get you focused on one area you can improve and lead to progress in other areas.
Keystone habits tap into something you care about deeply, and they’re powerful enough to trigger secondary habits. Because you’re working on yourself, the secondary habits you didn’t even mean to create start appearing in both related and unrelated areas of life. And just like that, these habits have become a part of your everyday life through what Charles calls a habit loop.
What Is a Habit Loop?
A cue: a trigger telling your brain to act on something. Cues can be centered around a location, time of day, emotions, people around you, or a previous action. For example, a stop light turning red is your cue to stop.
A reward: something that satisfies a craving that we may or may not know we have. This can look like sitting down to watch a TV show after cleaning the house or something as simple as getting a snack when your brain tells you you’re hungry.
A routine: the actions you take triggered by a cue to get a reward. If you want to feel awake by the time you get to work in the morning (reward) because you’ve noticed you barely get anything done before lunch (cue), your routine might look like going to sleep earlier the night before and eating a balanced breakfast when you wake up. If you write down your routine, you’re more likely to stick to it. And be sure to post it where you’ll see it every day!
We all use habit loops every day—even if it’s as simple as making that first cup of coffee in the morning to become a functioning human again. These loops can become so unconscious and engrained in our lives that they help us complete some tasks automatically (even complex ones)—like when you go on autopilot driving home and safely roll up to your driveway.
Putting the fun back into sex
Be adventurous. Maybe you’ve never had sex on the living room floor or in a secluded spot in the woods; now might be the time to try it. Or try exploring erotic books and films. Even just the feeling of naughtiness you get from renting an X-rated movie might make you feel frisky.
Be sensual. Create an environment for lovemaking that appeals to all five of your senses. Concentrate on the feel of silk against your skin, the beat of a jazz tune, the perfumed scent of flowers around the room, the soft focus of candlelight, and the taste of ripe, juicy fruit. Use this heightened sensual awareness when making love to your partner.
Be playful. Leave love notes in your partner’s pocket for him or her to find later. Take a bubble bath together—the warm cozy feeling you have when you get out of the tub can be a great lead-in to sex. Tickle. Laugh.
Be creative. Expand your sexual repertoire and vary your scripts. For example, if you’re used to making love on Saturday night, choose Sunday morning instead. Experiment with new positions and activities. Try sex toys and sexy lingerie if you never have before.
Read poetry to each other under a tree on a hillside. Surprise each other with flowers when it isn’t a special occasion. Plan a day when all you do is lie in bed, talk, and be intimate. The most important tool you have at your disposal is your attitude about sexuality. Armed with good information and a positive outlook, you should be able to maintain a healthy sex life for many years to come.
Different industries have different employment requirements – this is a simple fact of searching for a job. The reason for this is obviously different jobs have different roles and responsibilities to perform, hence the need for different types of information. You might have seen that nearly every job opening comes with a job description (JD) and it is there for a reason and purpose.
A JD clearly states the roles and responsibilities of the position as well as employer expectations pertaining to the job opening. It also contains several keywords relevant to the industry and job-specific requirements. The primary intent of a JD is to give job candidates a clear understanding of the potential employer’s requirements before they actually apply for the position.
It also clears up any doubt or confusion that applicants might have regarding the job opening, thereby letting them decide whether the opening is actually really relevant to them and something they want to actively pursue.
This perspective is something that employers and recruiters expect from job applicants before scheduling interviews. For hiring professionals, your resume serves the same purpose as it gives them a complete picture of your work experience, qualifications and skills.

Customize your resume keeping in mind the employer’s requirements.
List your skills in an easy to notice location. Here, you can mention programming languages, databases, coding tools and so on. Always include the ones you found in the corresponding JD.
Include a professional summary comprising your work experience and accomplishments along with roles and responsibilities in your current and previous jobs.
Do not include irrelevant details. Work experience that has no direct relationship with the job you are applying for can be excluded. In general, be brief about only your most recent 3-5 jobs.
If you have worked on something non-technical for a specific period, include it with genuine reason for doing so. Explaining a momentary switch to a different sector is much better than having an unexplained gap in your career history.
Only include relevant personal details; if you do coding or try learning new technologies in your free time you can definitely mention it.
Mention accolades separately, including rewards and certificates you earned in your previous or current roles.
Avoid giving graduation and educational details unless you are an alumnus of an extremely prestigious institute. A seasoned professional with many years of work experience can also leave such information out.

1. Know your application deadlines.
At the very beginning of your college application process, you won’t have to know exactly where you want to go. But having a sense of when applications are due for colleges you’re considering will be beneficial. Make a list of deadlines for schools you’re interested in, and keep it handy throughout the process. Many schools have early January deadlines.
Don’t know where to start? Try making an appointment with a school counselor or talking to a trusted teacher. They might be able to provide you with some guidance around what kinds of universities to look into, depending on your preferences.
2. Sign up for standardized testing.
Many students take the SAT or ACT for the first time in the spring of their junior year. This leaves them time to take the test again if they want to improve on their results. The latest you’ll want to take standardized tests for applications due in January is the fall of senior year.
Some students choose to sign up for standardized test practice courses, work through test prep books, or use online resources. Some resources, like the Khan Academy’s SAT personalized practice program, are free. The College Board recommends taking at least six to 20 hours to study for your first SAT .
How much is the SAT or ACT?

Ask for letters of recommendation a few months ahead of your application deadline. This is because teachers might be swamped with letter of recommendation requests towards the end of the year. You’ll want to give them plenty of time to prepare the letter and collect any information they need from you.
Teachers might ask for your GPA, a copy of your transcript, or perhaps even a draft of your personal statement—information they could use to get to know your strengths and motivations. Ask them what they might require when you ask for a letter of recommendation.
5. Submit your transcripts.
Most colleges require official school transcripts to see how you performed in academic settings. This includes your high school transcript, as well as transcripts from any other academic institutions you might have attended, like community college.
If you’re still in high school, visit your guidance counselor to request to send your high school transcript to the colleges you’re applying to. If you don’t see yourself making the early January deadlines, don’t panic—you still have several options. Many colleges have later deadlines or offer rolling admissions; look through a list to see if you’re interested in any. Community colleges might also offer more flexible deadlines, or allow students to start in the spring semester.

Nothing will send you to the bottom of the pile faster than a rushed application, and getting details wrong demonstrates a lack of care. Take the time to fully research your prospective schools. Browse their websites, review their mission statements and unique characteristics, and review faculty profiles for the department you plan to attend.
The personal essay component is often the most important part of your application. Consider the prompt as an opportunity to appear genuine and authentic while showcasing your writing and critical thinking skills.

It’s also important to understand that optimization is a dedicated, repeatable process. It’s not a once-and-done activity. You’ll work through the process, then begin again. And since you can always improve your results—no matter how much you improve them—you’ll continue optimizing as long as you’re in business.
You start by identifying your goals. You gather relevant data, analyze it, and create a hypothesis. You design your variants, implement technology and test your hypothesis. Then you analyze results, which will give you new insights and ideas for new tests.
Keep in mind, though, homepages are actually one of the most difficult pages to optimize because they’ve got to perform so many different tasks—and everyone wants to prioritize their own goals. The sales team is looking for qualified leads. The acquisition team is looking at how they can convert the traffic into emails.
At this stage of the process, you have your data and you’ve identified the elements that are likely hurting your conversion rates. Now you need to make some guesses about how you could fix the issue you’ve identified.
Notice that your hypothesis is about your intent. You need to be very precise about the outcome you’re aiming for. You also need to be sure it’s something you can measure and will improve your results in a specific way.
And while there’s no limit to the number of tests you can run on a site at any given time, if your site doesn’t get a lot of traffic, you’ll need to limit the number of tests you run—it simply takes too long to run a test and get valid results if your site is small.
If you’ve designed a simple test and nothing’s broken, it will take 9 to 11 days to get it up and running. But hiccups happen, so be prepared for tech issues and other glitches that could add a few days to this timetable.
This test is braindead simple. It only involves a few copy changes, which means it could be set up quickly. But it’s not very meaningful, and it’s not scalable at all. What you learn from this test won’t impact other tests in a significant way.
This test, for the DigitalMarketer site, is a lot more complicated. Because it’s a major redesign, it will take longer to set up and to implement. But we’ll learn a lot more, and our findings can be applied across our other tripwire pages, so it’s very scalable.
TIP: For a complicated test like this one, you’ll want to create a mockup, then build it in a landing page builder. Once your variant has been tested and proved, you’ll then want to scale it across all similar offers, so the results you gained from this test can be applied to all related pages. In this case, it took a month to do that.
Every test should run until it achieves statistical relevance—otherwise you can’t trust the results of your test. But the length of time it takes to reach statistical relevance depends on the number of variants you’re testing and the number of conversions you have per day.
What is "statistical relevance"? It’s how you mathematically prove that your test’s outcome is reliable. If you end a test too early, you won’t have enough data from the test to verify that your hypothesis was true. It might not be—and if you had run the test longer, the numbers would have proven it.
For instance, on Day 1, if your results tank, something is broken. Stop the test and diagnose the problem. If, on Day 12, your numbers are still 80% down, the test isn’t working. You need a pragmatic approach to know how to respond.
As a CRO, your goal is to mitigate risk while testing new ideas. So if a test is performing badly and the traffic source is organic, you can probably afford to keep it running. If it’s a paid traffic source, you’re losing money the longer a failed test runs. You should probably end it sooner than later.

Unfortunately there is no silver bullet that will work every time. Depending on your type of website, your unique value proposition and your type of visitors, there are hundreds of website elements that contribute to increased conversion rates. However, here are some things to improve that often have a big impact on increasing your conversion rates.
This is a common question, and the answer is that good conversion rates vary. This is because conversion rates are hugely dependent on your website type, your unique value proposition, and your marketing efforts.
For a rough benchmark though, 2% is average for an ecommerce website and anything above 5% is considered very good. But to prove my point, it’s not unusual to have conversion rates above 50% for good, focused paid search lead generation landing pages.

Comforting a friend who has lost a Father is probably one of the most difficult things you will need to do. Very few of us are experienced in dealing with death on a daily basis and it can be stressful.
The first thing to know is that your friend is in pain, grieving and needs any help they can get. They will not judge you, nor criticize what you do. Any small measure of support will be appreciated, even if they do not show their feelings at this time.
Being at the funeral or memorial service is the first step in showing that you care. Try at all costs to attend the ceremony. Offer your condolences and then step back and allow the process to take place. If possible, make contact with the family spokesperson and let him know that you will be available for any help needed in the weeks to come.
Very often, you don’t need to say much. Let your friend know that you are there to listen. Let them talk and express their feelings. Don’t be judgemental or critical. Allow them time to work through the grief. If they don’t want to talk, try not to force the issue by calling and being rejected. Simply tell them that they can call you whenever they are ready.

Strategies for Becoming a Better Writer That Actually Work
Much of that time has been dedicated to academic and technical writing, including university essays, research papers, funding applications, and graduate school submissions.
More recently, I’ve been writing and editing web-based content for businesses operating in the corporate world, with a particular focus on content marketing, internet marketing, entrepreneurship, and startups.
From academic authors, post-secondary students, and administrative bureaucrats to corporate clients, self-proclaimed content marketers, and everyday bloggers, I’ve come across a lot of writing over the past one and a half decades.
And whilst I’ve had the pleasure of reading and learning from the brilliant insights of countless exceptional writers — many of whom are exceedingly more talented than I am—I’ve also come to realize that there’s a huge amount of awful writing to be found in both print and digital media.
For both school-age children (from grade school all the way up to college/university) and working-age adults, deficiency in written communication is becoming both more common and more pronounced (sources: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
Reflecting on his experiences teaching undergraduate and graduate-level students at schools like Harvard, Yale, and Columbia’s Graduate School of Journalism, Verlyn Klinkenborg insists:
“[Students] can assemble strings of jargon and generate clots of ventriloquistic syntax. … But as for writing clearly, simply, with attention and openness to their own thoughts and emotions and the world around them — no. That kind of writing — clear, direct, humane — and the reading on which it is based [are absent]”.

How to Become a Better Writer
Practice makes perfect, so set aside just 10 or 15 minutes each day to free-write. Free writing is a healthy daily habit that allows you to get your thoughts down on paper (or computer) without worrying about outlining or proofreading your ideas. Think of it like a journal, but focus your daily entry on personal growth or a subject in which you want to become — or be seen as — an expert.
Be selective about your reading choices, though. While reading in general does help you take on new points of view, the content you’re reading can have the biggest impact on what you get out of it. According to a study by the University of Florida, reading academic journals and literary fiction can actually make you capable of more complex writing projects than reading simple, curated, or pop-culture web content.
